From October 30 to November 25, this pre-auction exhibition of works of art presents a collection of fine art in a broad scope of the 19th and 20th centuries, with an overlap into contemporary work. Two extraordinary and unknown Toyen canvases will also be presented. The pre-auction exhibition will last until November 25, and the auction itself will take place on November 26 from 12 noon in Prague's Žofín. Interested parties will also have the opportunity to bid online on the auction portal Artslimit.com.

The collection of old art occupies an important place and is presented by a strong enclave of works of art by leading Czech authors mainly from the 19th century with significant overlaps into the early 20th century. The oldest art dating back to approximately the middle of the 18th century is represented by a work by Norbert Grund. They are followed by the creators of the 19th century, led by Josef Mánes and Antonín Weiss. They are boldly seconded by Louisa Kannengiesser-Piepenhagen. There is also the so-called Haushofer school in the form of a cross-sectional collection by Adolf Chwala.

The 19th century collection is enriched by a foreign artist, Jean-Baptiste Camillo Corot, whose presence on the Czech art market is a real feast. His painting The Way Up brings a sample of the author's mature style with all the characteristics that we associate with him and his best works.

Distinctive authors born around the middle of the 19th century also received significant space. We can count Václav Brožík with his double paintings among them. The first of them, Zelné pole, is a small probe into the realm of landscape painting, the second is Black Strawberries, which can be described as a gallery work representing the popular rural genre of the time on a truly European level. This includes Karel Liebscher, Hugo Charlemont and Antonie Brandeisová. They are joined by Václav Jansa and the slightly younger Jaroslav Šetelík.
