85th Auction, Lot 10 The well-known and sought-after Polish painter, photographer, and filmmaker, Wilhelm Sasnal, is famous for his non-conformist and secretly disturbing portrayal of our collective environment and history. He creates his works based on the pictures from newspapers and magazines, the Internet, billboards or his own surroundings. Sasnal’s scenes give impression of a comprehensive archive of images that overwhelm contemporary society. The author thus captures stolen moments in time; his unusual cropping of images and graphic work with light and colours simulate a camera shot and bring to the canvases a cinematic tone. This artwork is a donation from the author. 50% of the proceeds from this artwork will be credited to the account of the Bátor Tábor Foundation and will be fully exempt from auction fees.
