The diamond-set fountain pen from the KOH-I-NOOR HARDTMUTH workshop is the only pen of its kind. It was made in 2020 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first Czechoslovak constitution. The constitution was adopted by the National Assembly on 29 February 1920 and replaced the provisional constitution adopted on 13 November 1918. The writing implements of the KOH-I-NOOR company had been supplied to the court of the Austro-Hungarian emperors, and the L&C HARDTMUTH Company carried on the tradition in the democratic republic, producing collections of luxury fountain pens. Even now, 100 years later, KOH-I-NOOR HARDTMUTH excels in the production of fountain pens of the highest quality, supplied to the presidents of the Czech Republic. While the limited series of the President Collection includes 10 copies, there is only one special pen issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first Czechoslovak constitution. Its construction is based on the tradition of pens with gold points. The jewellers set the symbolic crown of the pen with a 0.4 carat diamond in white solid gold of 585/1000 purity. The association of the diamond with the KOH-I-NOOR company is historically essentially linked with the name itself, which the company took over in 1894 after the world-famous Koh-i-Noor diamond, a part of the British crown jewels. The pen is certified. Proceeds from this artwork will be credited to the account of Memory of Nations and will be fully exempt from auction fees.
