Toyen, erotic years

We were very pleased to host the ceremonial launch of Andrea Sedláčková’s new book Toyen. The Erotic Years on Tuesday, 11 November. The publication of this book was supported by our Gallery. In this free sequel to the successful title Toyen. The First Lady of Surrealism, the author engagingly introduces the general public to Toyen’s erotic work from the years 1921–1938.

She was joined by publisher Aleš Lederer, art historian and author of the introductory study Karel Srp, the book’s editor Radovan Beneš, and our Gallery’s archivist Eliška Havlová. The book was christened with a reading by actress Eliška Balzerová, and Martin Kodl wished it success on the book market.
