Today you had to experience the atmosphere of the Velvet Revolution not only in the streets of Prague, but also in the KODL Gallery
An important place in our 90th auction is occupied by a very unconventional and unique item, Václav Havel's coat together with his original handwritten closing speech. The offered parka accompanied the then-dissident throughout the velvet revolution, and in 1989 it was immortalized by photographers many times on his shoulders. During the revolutionary autumn, Havel was captured in it at important meetings, including the memorial rally on November 21, 1989, where he spoke for the first time to a crowd in a completely packed Wenceslas Square.
You can view both the coat and the manuscript in person at KODL Gallery, and you can bid on the items at artslimit.com. 95% of the hammer price will be donated to the account Palác Lucerna, z.ú.
