Auction day 74

Many records were broken at this year's most successful auction organized by Kodl Gallery and Vltavín Auction Hall.

Over 450 works of art were offered on Sunday's auction day at the Kodl Gallery and the Vltavín Auction House in Prague's Žofín, and this is undoubtedly the most successful auction this year, the total price of which will once again exceed the record mark of CZK 100,000,000, which has been achieved for the second time in modern auction history in the Czech Republic .

The novelty of this auction was the cooperation with the Paraple Centre. The financial proceeds from the first 10 items will be transferred in the total amount to the benefit of the foundation center. From the total starting price of CZK 400,000, the amount was increased to almost CZK 800,000. All 10 items were sold. We will continue with the God-loving project.

Again, many auction records were broken. A number of 19th century authors surpassed their absolute maximum; August B. Piepenhagen, Ferdinand Lepié, Josef Navrátil, Václav Brožík, Gabriel von Max, Václav Radimský or Joža Úprka. They were joined by several record-breaking 20th-century authors; Robert Piesen, Josef Matička and Jaroslav Róna from the still living authors. Records were falling not only in the oil painting technique, but Julio Mařák's charcoal drawing also reached its new maximum.

The highest auctioned work was a completely unique, expressive and highly sophisticated work by Bohumil Kubišta, which fetched CZK 11,600,000 under the hammer.
